Updates!

First update: there's now an update section! 😀

Wondering if anything changes on my site? Have I got a page for you! It’s called Updates and you’re on it right now! Are you prophetic? How did you know I’d answer all your update questions here?

June 17, 2018

♦———————— I am definitely going to forget things that happened since the last update since wtf I did not do a good job of keeping up with updating this, but oh well! The main recent updates are below.

♦—— I made my second animated gif! It’s an animated version of the Wildwood Rising logo. You’ll find it on the Incarnations page. Actually– nah bro, let me just show it off here because I’m so happy 😀 😀 😀

♦—— Speaking of, the first four chapters of Incarnations are available to read/download for free in pdf! Also, I posted the new cover for Incarnations! All that (plus the Wildwood logo) can be found at my Incarnations page 😀

♦—— Oh yeah! Also, I finished writing the first draft of Incarnations in 2016 but apparently never updated this page to say that. Oooooops. I’ve been posting extras and etc on my Patreon.

♦—— Speaking of, I have Patreon now! https://www.patreon.com/ais I tried to make it as cheap as possible for people, and most things will eventually go free anyway. If you want to support me there, I love you 1000%! But if you can’t or don’t want to, I completely understand! I still very much appreciate your support elsewhere!

♦—— By the way, I (finally) made a writing masterlist for my solo stuff… although I have a feeling I will forget to keep that thing updated, too.

October 10, 2016

♦———————— I have a bunch of things to mention in this —

♦—— I updated the word count on Incarnations and Julian Files, also I’m now releasing some chapters every third Saturday of the month until I run out of pre-written material.

♦——I now have a mailing list you can subscribe to if you’re interested: http://eepurl.com/cjdren And you can find the archived version of the first issue I just sent out yesterday here: http://eepurl.com/cjio09

♦—— And, I made a video about how I use Scrivener:

♦———————— I made my first animated gif! To test this out, I drew a holiday gif of Boyd and Hsin – I put it in the Agency Storybook section of ATA because I wasn’t sure where to place it. It’s very simple and not what I originally planned to do but it was fun to try something new! I’ve been working on it while watching the livestream of (and donating to) Project For Awesome, which I highly recommend doing when it’s that time of year!

November 28, 2015

♦———————— I’m trying out a new software to record my screen as I draw terrible art comics, so I decided to test it out with a new piece of art. Because I wanted to do something different, I drew Dan and Phil from youtube. Added the new drawing to the original art section of ATA.

♦———————— I rearranged the ICoS page so the ebook/etc links were further toward the top, for ease of locating, and I added the link to our author signed stickers, next to the paperbacks link.

♦———————— I also updated the word count on Incarnations. I’ve been working on that book for NaNo and I’m happy that I’ve been able to get a lot written in it! (As of today, the book so far is at almost 78,428 words. That’s a lot of magic!) Here’s to hoping I can continue that progress once November is over.

For anyone who is of a religion, or in a country, with any sorts of holidays now or in the coming months: I’m wishing you the happiest of the holiday seasons, and all the love in the world.

I realized to my great regret that I had somehow failed to list the Malala Fund on my charities page, so I added it. Then, I worried that all my favorite charities would never be seen because they were buried down on the Do Good page. So, to fix that, I now made a separate charities page where you can find all my favorite charities in one place. I truly hope you take a moment to at least skim the pictures and click on the ones that look interesting. Every one of those charities do incredibly important work. You’ll notice a lot of them are aimed at rescuing and/or rehabilitating abandoned or injured animals, and that’s because dogs and animals in general are very important to me. But that is not my only passion when it comes to charity. Please take the time to look at the others as well– any of them are very important, and some of them (like charity: water) give you ways of donating something other than money, like creating a fundraising campaign in place of your birthday.

I’m currently doing NaNo 2015, and if you want to follow my progress you can here. I started out planning to write Veils, but I was stalled when I couldn’t access research I needed for several days so I switched back to Incarnations, which is the book I most want to finish by April 2016. It’s also the most complicated book I’m writing.

Anyway, long story short, when planning Veils as the NaNo I ended up totally changing the previous plot and renamed it and all sorts of fun things. I used that information at NaNo, but then after I officially changed my NaNo 2015 novel over to Incarnations, I didn’t want to lose that info.

That was my long ass way of saying I updated the Veils page to be more accurate to what that book will be. Meanwhile, I’m making headway on Incarnations like whoa. I’m over 30,000 words this month so far!

September 28, 2015

I’m on a roll with the covers lately, for some reason. I made two new covers, and changed the name of one of the books. Note that these are placeholders until I finish (and can, hopefully, publish) the books.

♦— The Memory Remains cover updated!
♦— I changed the name of one book, from The Place That Time Forgot (a name I hated for that story, ngl) to Veils – and gave it a brand new cover as well.

Also, I realized I hadn’t updated a link to the resources page on the give and take landing page, so I added that. Which reminds me, if you hadn’t noticed yet all the links in the menu go to an actual page, even if when you hover over the menu there’s a drop down of other options. In other words, where it says “about” that isn’t just a way for you to hover over ‘about’ to get to contacts and updates. You can click on ‘about’ and find a page with a whole bunch of info there 🙂 It’s the same with all the menu options– home, about, writing, fun, and give and take.

September 27, 2015

I updated the covers for several books. All except for Deliverance were made by me. Note that these are placeholders until I finish (and can, hopefully, publish) the books.

♦— Deliverance cover made by Ashley Kaye Hayes!
♦— Domino cover updated, to now include a woman
♦— Julian Files cover updated

I also added the info on the book I’m working on currently, which previously I hadn’t listed because I was paranoid. But I made a cover for it yesterday and it got me excited. Therefore:

New book added! Incarnations.

August 7, 2015

Guess what? Guess! Actually, don’t even try– you’ll never guess!** I have an update. Oh no no, friend. I have a few.

♦— Added two drawings to original art – pictures of characters from my fantasy book: Cora, and Enria and Ven. You have no reason to have any idea who these people are now, but eventually! ohoho, eventually this will all make sense. (Probably)
♦— I updated my Do Good page with a new charity (Vet Ranch), and a number of pictures/quotes at the bottom
♦— Added my email address to the contact page for those of you who have a phobia of embedded contact forms (is this a thing? I bet it’s a thing)
♦— Reorganized the ICoS page and added a number of items: all the direct download links for the ebooks (because Safari has it out for our other site), also added our donation link, and our new newsletter subscription (switched to mailchimp from bravenet recently), and a more direct link to our gift shop.
♦— Added another blog post to my site
♦— Oh, and by the way the ICoS fan soundtrack is periodically updated when I get new suggestions so you might want to subscribe to the playlist at Youtube or Spotify if you want to keep track.

**this is a bald-faced lie

July 5, 2015

♦— Why hello there, internet friends 😀 Did you miss me? I bet you did. You don’t have to deny it. We all secretly understand. Well, others might. Personally, I don’t know how you can stand me. But to each their own, right?

What’s that? You wanted an update? Because this is the updates page? I mean. If you want to be all pushy about it….

I added a new page! It’s called Resources and it’s where I will place things I’ve made that mayhaps others will find of use. Hey hey. Hey! Want to know what’s there already? It’s a Character Questions Template that I use for my Scrivener project in my fantasy books. It asks a lot of questions you can ask yourself when building a character. Maybe it will help you. I have it available for download in .odt, .doc, and .rtf which hopefully is enough because I currently don’t have Word and there is nary a Mac in sight.

May 16, 2015

♦———————— I added two charities to my Do Good page– Hope for Paws and Animal Aid Unlimited.

By the way, for future generations of internet denizens who must have all the knows that can be known, the site was also launched this month. May 4, to be exact. It happened to be Star Wars Day but that was just a coincidence. I am not the droid you are looking for.
